Professor Dr Antonis Metaxas, managing partner of Metaxas & Associates law firm was invited to the “Future of Retail 2024” Conference of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE), which took place on the 5th and 6th of April 2024, at Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Governance and Elevate Greece. This major international conference of ESEE focuses on the transformations, concerns and proposals that make up the new landscape of Retailing in Greece and internationally, seeking to transform the emerging future of Retailing into a holistic conference and exhibition experience.
Prof Dr Metaxas participated in the panel titled: “From policy to practice: a multi-faceted approach to tackle illicit tobacco trade and preserve market sustainability,” where, along with Mr Giorgos Pitsilis, director general of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), and Ms Georgia Karountzou, director of corporate affairs and communication at the Greek branch of Japan Tobacco International (JTI), they highlighted significant regulatory parameters to ensure fair competition in the tobacco sector as well as in every field of business activity.
