Official presentation of an accredited scientific publication on European energy networks under the auspices of the University of Athens
Legal, political and regulatory challenges of the development of energy networks in Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean will be analyzed in the framework of the official presentation of a new international scientific publication.
The book presentation, under the auspices of the University of Athens, will take place on March the 7th at 18:00 in the Drakopoulos Amphitheatre at the University’s main building on Panepistimiou str. Speakers include Professor Maniatis, ex Minister of Energy and Environment, Mr. Apsouris, Legal Counsel of the Hellenic Petroleum Group, Dr. Karakatsani, Member of the Board of the Greek National Regulation Authority and Mr. Avlonitis, Advisor – Regulatory Affairs at DESFA SA.
The publication, titled “Transformation of EU and Eastern Mediterranean Energy Networks – Legal, Regulatory and Geopolitical Challenges”, is part of the scientific series “European Energy Studies” by the esteemed international publishing house Claeys & Casteels. This specialized scientific publication with contributions by distinguished Greek and foreign academics and executives, presents a comprehensive framework of the major issues that define the regulatory and geopolitical challenges of energy networks in the EU and the Eastern Mediterranean and has already been receiving significant positive reviews in some of the most well-respected European journals.
The book is edited by two distinguished academics, Dr. Leigh Hancher, Professor at Tilburg University & Florence School of Regulation, and Dr. Antonis Metaxas, Ass. Professor of EU and EU Competition Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens & Visiting Professor in the renowned Master’s program in European and International Energy Law of TU Berlin. Authors of this important publication include Prof. Dr. Jochen Mohr from the University of Leipzig, Prof. Dr. Antonis Metaxas, Sofia Michelaki from the Greek National Natural Gas System Operator, Michalis Mathioulakis from the Hellenic Energy Regulation Institute, Dr. Fotini Bellou, Assistant Professor at the University of Macedonia, Alexia Trokoudi from the Hellenic Petroleum, Marios Andrikopoulos from Elpedison S.A and Georgia Patsaroucha.
